(Ouagadougou, 22 July 2024) – The Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT) of Burkina Faso received from 24 to 26 July 2024 the retention of Colonel Malick DIAW, President of the National Transitional Council (CNT) of Mali.
During this period, the hosts of the parliamentary institutions of Burkina Faso will meet with His Excellency Dr. Ousmane Buguma, President of the Transitional Legislative Assembly. The two leaders will discuss in particular the issues of bilateral parliamentary cooperation, the role and status of the two countries in international parliamentary organizations, the prospects for the establishment of a parliamentary conference of the member states of the Federation of Sahel States (AES).
The President of the CNT will attend the plenary session of the Semicircle on Thursday, July 25, 2024, when he will address the people of Burkina Faso through his country representative. The official visit of Colonel Dia is part of the consolidation of the good relations of understanding between the Parliaments of Burkina Faso and Mali. It follows the stay of a delegation of Malian parliamentarians in Ouagadougou from January 22 to 28, 2024, and the official visit of His Excellency Dr. Ousmane Buguma to Bamako in December 2022.
It is worth noting that in addition to courtesy visits to political and customary authorities, the President of the Malian Parliament will also host the graduation ceremony of the 12th session of the Higher Institute for Civil Protection Studies (ISEPC).
