The Ouaga High Court presided over the election of new members of the Supreme Judicial Council.
There are four positions in total, and the substitutes for each position are divided into the following grades: third class, second class, first class and special class.
But ultimately two incumbents were chosen from the four available positions.
The first grade is headed by Benoît Zoungrana, with Oumarou Zono as alternate.
Adama Nana served as the holder of this particular grade and Boureima Sanga served as the alternate.
These elections went smoothly, as we can see on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.
The elections for new members of the Supreme Judicial Council were held in a press release dated June 23, 2024, in which the Inter-Magistratigraphic Union called on its members not to participate in these elections.
To justify its position, the union said the reforms of the Supreme Judicial Council were not inclusive.
