“No one is going to come and tell us that there are no French bases targeting us in Benin. I challenge them. We have evidence. There are two French bases in Benin. We have nothing against the people of Benin, we have issues with the policies of the leaders of Benin. It is true that there are two bases. The runway has been redeveloped… Planes are landing, people are equipping and training terrorists there. We have recordings of French agents in Benin, who are operating in the heart of the terrorists’ activity. They are operating with them, helping them take care of themselves, they are there doing everything. We have all their details. Don’t you want us to tell our people? That’s what we are saying. If they don’t want to, they should stop acting like this. It’s very simple,” the President also insisted, saying that he has detailed information on the issue.
President Ibrahim Traoré basically said: “Burkina Faso was once a rear base for terrorists to destabilize the country, and now it is working against the people of Burkina Faso.” He invited the people to talk to their president to avoid alienating the terrorists in the future.
