The newspaper published information on the suspension by the High Communications Council (CSC) on its website late Thursday, June 20, 2024. According to the decision, the suspension lasts for one month starting from the notification of the act (see bottom of the page).
The decision of the magazine, which qualifies as “violation and injustice”, is the fact that the article was published« 𝟒𝟎𝟎 𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐅𝐂𝐅𝐀 𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐕 𝐃𝐏 𝐝𝐞́𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞́𝐬 : 𝐋𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐞 𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐎𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐬’𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞́ 𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐜 𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐞́𝐦𝐨 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞 », published in the June 10, 2024 issue.
The CSC’s decision (below) also ordered the newspaper to immediately remove the offending article from all its digital media.
“We completely reject and repudiate this grotesque, unjust and abusive sanction by the CSC, which we have issued in addition to this press release,” the newspaper responded, saying it was taking action with the competent jurisdictions.
We remember that in March 2016, the newspaper was suspended by the National Bureau of Statistics. He said it had provided “military secrets”. The newspaper challenged the decision of the Administrative Court of Ouagadougou, which ordered the lifting of the one-month suspension, putting pressure on Les Affaires.
