The Minister of National Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosthène Dingara, announced the reopening of around 1,300 schools as part of the biannual evaluation of ministers by the head of government, Apollinaire Joachimson Kyélèm de Tambèla, on Thursday, August 8, 2024, in Ouagadougou. Presenting the results of the first half of the year, Minister Sosthène Dingara said that the achievement of its contractual objectives reached 65%.

Despite security challenges in Burkina Faso, the country’s Minister of Education, Literacy and Promotion of National Languages, Jacques Sosthène Dingara, announced the reopening of around 1,300 schools between October 2023 and June 2024.

“Just yesterday we received a request from the Boucle du Mouhoun region to reopen around 300 schools for the next academic year. We are confident that, with this dynamic, many other schools in regions with severe security challenges will reopen for the next academic year,” said Minister Dingala.

On the Philip Sinda Kapore Secondary School, the Minister said he is still considering the transformation and future of the institution. According to him, the vision of the government is to build school complexes today, as is the case with the upcoming Bonheur Ville School.
