The 2024 primary election will be held on Tuesday, August 20, and voters across Broward County will be preparing to vote.
Anyone who is registered to vote by July 22, 2024, is eligible to vote in this critical election. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, and voters are reminded to vote in their designated precinct. Election Day precincts can be found at the following locations:d here.
To ensure voting goes smoothly, Broward County Supervisors of Elections have issued several important reminders for the primary election:
- Identification requirements: Florida law requires voters to present a valid photo ID and signature at the polling place. A full list of acceptable forms of identification is available on the BrowardVotes.Gov website. The ID must be current and not expired.
- Mail-in voting: Voters who prefer to vote by mail can find drop-off locations on the BrowardVotes.Gov website.
- Voting Location: While a voter information card is not required to vote, it is very useful for determining your polling place and precinct. Voters who have recently moved must vote in their new precinct.
- Provisional Ballots: Voters who do not bring the required ID will be required to vote using a provisional ballot. Those ballots will be counted once the voter’s registration and eligibility are confirmed.
- Switching from voting by mail to voting in person: Voters who apply for a mail-in ballot but decide to vote in person can bring their mail-in ballot to a polling place, which will cancel it and issue a new in-person ballot.
Election results (including mail-in voting, early voting, and Election Day ballots) will begin streaming on the BrowardVotes.Gov website at 7:00 p.m. on Election Night. Results will continue to update until all precincts have reported.
