In March this year, the US intelligence community omitted Milorad Dodik’s name from the section covering Bosnia in its annual report on global threats.

“(Dodik) is taking provocative steps to eliminate international supervision of Bosnia and Herzegovina and ensure the de facto division of the Republika Srpska,” the document states.

Burns, a former diplomat and former ambassador to Russia, is one of the central figures in the US presidential administration Joe Bidenand was part of his cabinet.

He was appointed Director of the CIA in January 2021 and was sworn in in March of that year, becoming the first career diplomat to lead the U.S. intelligence community.
