The first alternative investment fund in Bosnia and Herzegovina received an operating license and will operate under the name MS Loans, Indikator.ba writes.
On May 17, the Securities Commission of Republika Srpska issued a decision to the Company to establish and manage the Fund under the management of Banjaluka Investment Fund Management Solutions.
The assets of the MS Loans fund will be invested primarily in loan claims against businessmen, i.e. the fund will primarily deal with financing of small, medium and micro enterprises and entrepreneurs.
Alternative investment funds invest in a wide variety of asset classes, such as limited liability company shares, real estate, credit claims, commodities, unlisted securities, and other assets.
They can invest in start-ups or acquire mature companies and restructure them, and they can focus only on investments in certain industrial sectors such as energy, environment, sustainable development, or certain categories of commodities such as precious metals, oil, and so on.
