Ivica Dacic, Vice President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of the Interior, said that members of the Ministry of the Interior searched the place where the boat carrying migrants capsized on the Drina River in the Ljubovia region and found a baby, while the Republika Srpska police fished out another male body from the Drina River.
“Members of the Interior Ministry found the body of a nine-month-old baby in the town of Longjin, downstream of the Drina River, near the coast, around 3:30 this afternoon, during an intensive search of the area since last night,” Dacic said.
“Unfortunately, she is the tenth victim of the capsizing of a migrant boat carrying migrants trying to cross the river from Serbia between Drača and Orlica near Ljubovia, Zvornik. The baby was with her mother, whose body was pulled out of the river earlier. Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia staff have found the bodies of six men, a woman and a baby, while the Serbian Police found the bodies of two men and the search is still ongoing,” said Dačić.
