A woman has filed a lawsuit alleging that the chief executive of BlackBerry Ltd., the company’s former chief marketing officer, sexually harassed her and retaliated against her for reporting the behavior.
Lawyers for plaintiff Neelam Sandhu told a U.S. court this month that Sandhu will voluntarily use his real name in the case against the Waterloo, Ontario-based technology company and its CEO John Giamatteo.
In court documents, attorneys Maria Bourn and Anthony Tartaglio said Sandhu chose to use her name to prevent further harm to other women in the workplace.
Sandhu initially filed the case under the name Jane Doe.
In July, Judge Sallie Kim told Sandhu and her lawyers that they would have to get permission from the court if they wanted to hear the case under a pseudonym.
Lawyers and public relations firms representing Sandhu did not respond to requests for comment.
