It was pointed out that the workers of the house had not received their wages for 50 days, taxes had not been paid for years, pensioners were unable to exercise their rights, and the employees’ right to survival and dignified work was threatened.
The workers claim that the support of government representatives remains declarative, as they say many promises to help solve the problems of BHRT’s economic survival remain unfulfilled.
Many organisations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and colleagues from other trade unions expressed their support to the workers during today’s warning protest.
The president of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Selvedin Šatorović, expressed his willingness to help organize possible future protests, not inside the RTV dom building, but in front of the Bosnian Parliament.
They reminded that the funds collected from the RTV tax in the Federation of BiH are still in the accounts of JP Elektroprivreda BiH, because there is no agreement between the BHRT management and the federal television station on the fair distribution of funds. Meanwhile, politicians only make promises but do not take responsibility.
As of yesterday, BHRT had cancelled 15 shows, with some being cut short.
The 15 shows cancelled include “The Ultimate Elixir”, “Countdown”, “Road to Health”, “New Adventures”, domestic documentary shows, “Talent Show”, “Thinking Box”, “Art De Bao”, “My Motherland”, “DVS – Cannes Film Festival”, “Identity”, “Global”, “Last Friday with Maja Mirale”, “Inbox”, “Trends”, while the show “Everyone’s Morning” will last two hours instead of three.
