Several residents of the south side are demanding a refund of the money paid to the Bella Vista Village Council for land that has yet to be delivered. While making the demand, the individuals speculated that some members of the Village Council had acquired acres of land for family members. Multiple receipts of land payments were uploaded to the platform as proof of payments made as early as January last year. According to the posts, those who requested for refunds were met with perfunctory responses and in desperation, they resorted to social media as an outlet for their anger. Our newsroom made several attempts to contact the chairperson, Oneida Hernandez, but no one answered. Love News has learnt that each person paid $500 for each plot of land. The frustration of the people further increased after allegations were made that the funds had been invested and refunds were not readily available. Several receipts forwarded to our newsroom were stamped with the seals of the late Honorable Mike Espat and the Land Department. We will have more coverage on the matter on Monday.
