Surprisingly, the 2024 European Cup created two new pages of history in one day: Spain defeated Croatia and Italy defeated Albania.
On June 15, 2024, the European football championship “Euro 2024” held two new history-making events on the second day, all in Group B.
The first new chapter in history took place in the match where the Spanish national team defeated the Croatian national team 3-0, with the wonderkid from FC Barcelona, Ramin Yamal, entering the starting 11.
This makes Ramin Yamal the youngest player in the European Championship at the age of 16 years and 338 days, breaking the previous record of Kasper Kozlovski, who represented the Polish national team in the 2020 European Cup. On June 19, 2021, in the 1-1 draw with Poland in Group E, Ramin Yamal was 17 years and 246 days old.
As for the second new chapter in history, it happened in the game. The Italian national team defeated the Albanian national team 2-1. The Albanian team quickly took the lead 1-0 through Nedim Bairami in 23 seconds.
Albania’s goal made Nedim Bairami the fastest scorer in European Championship history, replacing Dmitry Kirichenko, who scored in a 2–1 win over the Greek national team in a UEFA Euro 2004 Group A match on 20 June 2004.
