Barbados Community College has a new vice-chancellor.
He is Samuel Bowen, an educator with more than two decades of professional experience and a former senior tutor in the college’s technology department.
Bowen will serve in the position from April 2023 and brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to creating a supportive and enriching learning environment.
During this time, he focused on the professional development of academic staff, coordinated facility rentals, monitored and evaluated the college’s academic programs and student performance, and assessed work plans and timetables for each department. He was committed to maintaining high educational standards, promoting innovative teaching practices, and ensuring that all students can achieve their full potential.
Bowen holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Architecture and a Diploma in Education. He also earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on a Fulbright Scholarship.
The new Vice-Chancellor promotes a collaborative approach and values a strong commitment to excellence, while working every day to embody the College’s vision to “become a world-class centre of excellence in education and training” in service of our community. (public relationship)
