Bawasru hopes to improve public services by providing legal consultation facilities to members of the public and general election monitors who require information, knowledge or legal advice on election laws.

JAKARTA (ANTARA) – The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) on Friday opened a legal consultation station to help the Indonesian people achieve high-quality, democratic elections.

“Congratulations on the official launch of the Bawaslu Legal Advice Station. Hopefully it will lead to direct, open, free, confidential, honest and fair elections,” Bawaslu head Rahmat Bagja said at the station’s launch, which was broadcast on Bawaslu’s YouTube channel on Friday.

He pointed out that the creation of the position coincides with Indonesian Constitution Day, which is commemorated every year on August 18. According to him, the Constitution is the consensus of the Indonesian nation.

Bagja further said that the essence of the agreement when it comes to elections is that all stakeholders have the right to participate in order to discharge their constitutional duties in the spirit of democracy. Fastabi Kul Kairat Or compete in kindness.

“(This is) an opportunity for all Indonesian people to achieve electoral fairness,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bawaslu secretary general Ichsan Fuady said the position was created because the agency was keen to provide a space for the public to access information on the general election.

He said the position would also provide space for election monitors to consult and obtain legal considerations in carrying out election monitoring duties and functions.

He said the purpose of establishing the post is to achieve fast, easy, transparent and comprehensive advisory services. The agency also aims to provide accountable services free from corruption, collusion and nepotism.

Fuadi commented: “Bawasru hopes to improve public services by providing legal consultation facilities to members of the public and general election monitors who require information, knowledge or legal advice on election laws.”

He also expressed hope that the position would improve the quality of public services of the agency and make it quick, easy, transparent and measurable as part of good governance.
