Shameful?! Not only is this decision not some scandal, it should have been made much earlier! Religion should be a personal decision of an individual, and for such a decision, the individual should be a calculated, mature, and sophisticated person, not a baby who doesn’t even have the BroadCast Unitedlectual capacity to understand what religion is, let alone choose and decide which one to belong to. This is nothing but indoctrination.
The parallels to gay couples adopting children are totally phallic! The fact that it’s about homosexuality doesn’t mean that adopted children themselves will be forced to be gay, nor does it mean that the couple will have sex before the child. I’m sure your parents didn’t have sex in front of you either, even if they weren’t gay.
Finally, it is transparent and deplorable to try to frame this or similar cases as an attack on Orthodoxy. In fact, it is normal to denigrate specific target groups such as homosexuals, but the decision to protect freedom of choice is an attack on Orthodoxy…
