Baiji is a disaster-hit city where militias are hindering people from returning to the judiciary – Al-Baghdadiya Media Group

The mayor of the Baiji district in Saladin province revealed several reasons that prevented displaced people in the district from returning to their residential areas, and said that the city was affected by terrorist incidents.
The head of Baiji district said that one of the facts about Baiji that the media may have overlooked, including the militia’s control of the city, is that the total number of houses destroyed after the events of 2014 and the ensuing events is more than 12 thousand houses, according to official compensation records, which clearly shows the severity of the disaster suffered by the people, adding that the issue of the return of displaced families has reached an impasse given the current situation. More than thirty percent of the families have not yet returned, while the number of families who have returned is less than nearly four thousand.
