For the first time since the state of emergency was declared in the Amara region, the regional capital and the coast were subject to various restrictions.
The city government’s security committee announced in a statement released yesterday that a curfew has been imposed on people and vehicles to eliminate what the city called “negligible” security issues.
Mr. Amara Desalu, who was elected from the area and represented the Amara National Movement/Father of the Nation/Party in the House of Representatives, said, “Repeated imposition of bans will not solve the existing security issues,” he said.
