Bahia beats Sporting to advance to Brazil Women’s A2 final

Bahia is the first finalist of the A2 series of the Brazilian Women’s Football Championship. This Friday (19th), Women of Steel hosted the second leg of the Sport semi-final. As it happened in Pernambuco, the Bahians ended the match with an advantage on the scoreboard and consolidated their position with a 2-0 win.

In Pituaçu, Bahia dominated the game from start to finish. The Iron Lady team created the main offensive opportunities in the first half, while the Sporting team only had one dangerous chance before the halftime break. Around the 37th minute, Raiza opened the scoring with a rebound from the small penalty area after a corner kick.

In the second period, with the score already unfavorable, the Lionesses had more possession. Pernambuco tried to seek equality, but was counterattacked by the Bahian team. With most of the players exhausted, Sports watched Bahia’s parade, scored a goal and equalized the score with a header from Leticia.

With this Friday’s result, Bahia closed the semi-final against Sporting with a 4-1 aggregate score, building on a 2-1 win in the first leg. Already guaranteed a place in the 2025 Brazilian Women’s Football League, the Iron Women’s team hopes to end the season with the title of the Brazilian Women’s Football A2 League. The opponent to be decided comes from the confrontation between Juventud and 3B da Amazônia.
