Charles D. Lewis has resigned as President of the Barbados Association of Creatives and Artists (BACA) after serving for two years and five months in the position.
The association said in a press statement received yesterday that immediate past president Sean Carter, who was elected vice-president at the annual general meeting in January, will take up the role.

BACA said it was announcing the resignation, which will take effect on May 31, “with regret and understanding”, and said it came after Lewis “recently returned from leave”. He cited “unforeseen developments and responsibilities” in his letter.
“This resignation letter, submitted on May 17, marks the end of Lewis’ leadership of the association. Although Lewis’ tenure was brief, he made noteworthy contributions to BACA’s organizational and structural integrity during his tenure,” BACA said.
BACA said Carter, the association’s first president, “has not only extensive experience;
“An unwavering passion and commitment to our creative community”.
“His leadership has brought continuity and innovation as we navigate this period of change.
“On behalf of the Association, we, the BACA Executive Team, would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Mr Lewis for serving as our President. We wish Mr Lewis all the best in his future endeavours and are confident that his future journey will be even more fulfilling and rewarding than his time at BACA.
“As we move forward, the Barbados Society of Creatives and Artists will remain committed to its mission to empower, develop, promote, represent and defend the interests of all creatives and performing artists in Barbados,” the society said in a statement.PR/GBM）
