St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): An autopsy conducted on August 12, 2024 at the Joseph N. French General Hospital mortuary determined that Devon Parris, 30, and J’Marni Smithen, 9, both of Cradock Road, Nevis, died from severe craniocerebral trauma caused by gunshot wounds to the head.
The examination was performed by Dr. Adrian Nunez and Dr. Nadica Philip.
On August 2, 2024, the victim was found in a red Honda Fit (license plate R 66) near Newton Grand Bay.
Initial reports indicated that Paris and Smithson were last seen on the evening of August 1, when they left their family’s residence with plans to attend a birthday party at the Caribbean Cinema.
The next morning, a passerby spotted the car partially obscured by bushes and alerted authorities.
St. Kitts and Nevis police responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the incident. No further details have been released at this time. Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in providing information that may help solve the case.
The deaths of Parris and Smithen have caused great concern in the local community. The investigation is ongoing and we will provide updates as they become available.
