Three concerts by US superstar Taylor Swift in Vienna have been cancelled after Austrian authorities arrested two men suspected of planning a terror attack, organizers said on Wednesday.

“With government officials confirming a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel all three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” Barracuda Music said on social media.

Austrian authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with a planned terrorist attack.

“In the early hours of the morning, a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of planning a terrorist attack,” Austrian Security Chief Franz Ruff said at a news conference.

The man was arrested about an hour’s drive from the capital, Vienna, where another person was arrested.

Austrian national broadcaster ORF reported that the “detainees are suspected of terrorism.”

“The two suspects had taken concrete steps to prepare for a terrorist attack,” Roof said. According to the security chief, the chemicals currently being analyzed, among others, were confiscated from the home of a 19-year-old man.

Several nearby homes were evacuated and streets were closed to search the home of one of the suspects, the national broadcaster reported.

According to authorities, the man had expressed support for the Islamic State extremist group in recent weeks. Preliminary investigations showed that both suspects were radicalized online.
