Auditor general points to P4 billion in suspicious transactions

The latest report by the Auditor General shows possible irregularities in government business transactions totaling about P4 billion, including more than P100 million in unaccounted public assets and nearly P500 million in unrecorded expenditures from the government payroll account since 2005.

Among the more than 100 million pesos of unaccounted government assets are Tautona Lodge, which the government controversially bought from former Agriculture Secretary Christian de Graaff for more than 50 million pesos, and more than 70 million pesos of Debt Participation Capital Financing Ltd. assets.
