08-11-24.-There are no survivors among the 62 passengers, including three Venezuelans and a Portuguese woman, on the Voepass Airlines plane that crashed in Brazil’s Sao Paulo state on Friday, the airline reported on Saturday.
Voepass detailed in a statement that foreigners were not initially included in the list of victims because all passengers used Brazilian documents when boarding the flight and it was not known that four of them had dual citizenship.
“We clarify that of the 58 passengers, four had dual nationality, three were Venezuelan and one was Portuguese,” the airline said in a statement.
The Venezuelan victims were identified as Josgleidys González; his mother, María Parra, and son, Joslan Pérez, 4.
The Portuguese woman who died in the accident has been identified as Gracinda Marina.
According to neighbors of the Venezuelan family in the city of Cascavel, the three boarded a flight in Sao Paulo, where they would catch a flight back to Venezuela after living in Brazil for several months, taking with them a dog, for whom they had already obtained all the necessary documents for international travel.
Because the child was born with health problems, the family settled in Brazil and received care at a hospital in Sao Paulo. After treatment, the family settled in Cascavelle, in the southern state of Paraná.
The accident aircraft, a French-made twin-engine ATR-72-500, was flying between Cascavel and Sao Paulo with 58 passengers and four crew members on board when it crashed about 80 kilometers from its destination. Destination.
Although the device fell in a residential area, it landed in a backyard of a residential area without affecting any buildings or leaving any victims on the ground.
As of Saturday afternoon, rescue teams had removed the bodies of 42 of the 62 victims from the wreckage of the plane, including the pilot and co-pilot, who were identified through fingerprint checks.
