Kuwait City, August 6: The Ministry of Interior issued a notice yesterday afternoon stating that an unidentified person driving a mobile taxi attempted to rob a money exchange shop in the Mabla area. The notice stated that the taxi driver’s companion may have been armed, but it was not clear whether the weapon was real or fake.
According to security sources, the Ministry of the Interior received a report that a masked fat man entered a currency exchange shop with a gun. The attacker asked the staff to hand over the money and said “give it”, then got out of the car and instructed the taxi to drive away quickly.
Sources said the store’s cameras captured the entire incident and the suspects did not take any money from the attempted robbery. It is believed that the taxi simply stopped in front of the store by chance.
The source expressed confidence that the perpetrators would be caught within a few hours, at which time an investigation would determine the specific circumstances of the incident and the authenticity of the weapons used.
