SEOUL: A fire broke out in a South Korean hotel, killing at least six people and injuring 11, Yonhap News Agency reported on Thursday (August 22), citing the fire department.
Yonhap News Agency reported that of the 11 injured, three were seriously injured and the other eight were slightly injured and they have been sent to hospital.
The fire broke out on the eighth floor of a nine-story hotel in Bucheon, south of the capital Seoul, at around 7:40 p.m., Yonhap News Agency reported, citing the Gyeonggi Province Fire Department.
A total of 46 fire trucks and 150 firefighters were reportedly dispatched to the scene.
A fire official said the toll could rise as firefighters continued to rescue guests.
