The official spokesperson of the Saudi Authority for Certified Appraisers, “Taqeem” A. Saad Al-Baiz, stated that the Authority intends to start correcting the conditions of persons responsible for vehicle damage assessment in some regions and provinces of the Kingdom in accordance with the rules of the accredited appraiser system and the vehicle damage assessment department. Al-Biz confirmed that vehicle damage assessment is being carried out in accordance with the authority of the Authority in accordance with the accredited appraiser system. According to Royal Decree No. (M/43) dated 9/7/1433 AH, vehicle damage assessment departments were established in all regions of the Kingdom in accordance with the existing coordination between the authorities and the executive branch. The Traffic Authority is seeking to coordinate and correct the conditions of persons currently responsible for estimating vehicle damage, who are used by the Traffic Department in various regions and provinces to estimate vehicle damage, as the Authority seeks to enable persons responsible for estimating vehicle damage to practice this profession using the Authority’s electronic system after meeting regulatory requirements and correcting their conditions.
This step is one of the most important duties of the Directorate in regulating and developing the appraisal profession in the Kingdom and is also to control the quality of appraisal work in all its branches, including the Vehicle Damage Appraisal Department, starting with the necessary qualifications of appraisers. Certification of vehicle damage appraisers according to approved standards and by providing membership and licensing and raising the awareness level of vehicle damage appraisal centers and ensuring their implementation of regulatory and professional requirements.
It is noteworthy that the Authority published the rules regulating the vehicle damage assessment department on the unified electronic platform, seeking comments from the public, government agencies and experienced experts with a view to finalizing the terms and rules regulating the vehicle damage assessment department and the control measures for establishing and operating the centres.
