Ask Bangladesh to stop attacking Hindus

A group continues to destroy temples, set fires, occupy Hindu properties, attack homes and commercial establishments, targeting minority communities, especially the Hindu community, amid violence in Bangladesh’s quota-centric anti-discrimination student movement and unrest surrounding the ouster of Sheikh Hasina’s government.

On August 10, hundreds of thousands of Hindu men and women living in the UK formed a human chain in front of the British Parliament to protest and demand an end to attacks on the Bangladeshi Hindu community.

Subsequently, a memorandum was also submitted on behalf of British Bengali Hindus to the British Prime Minister, BBC World Service and the Bangladesh High Commission.

Calling on the interim government of Bangladesh to stop the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindus said at the rally that the Bangladesh government is unable to provide security for Hindus. Whenever there is any political unrest in the country, a group of people who hate Hinduism will attack Hindus. This time is no exception. In 1975, 2000, 2013-2014, and 2018, Hindus were attacked across the country.

More than 20 Hindu organisations including UK Sanatan Society, Bangladesh Hindu Association, Indian Buddhist Christian Solidarity Association, Jagannath Hall Alumni Association, Pooja Celebration Committee, Bangladesh Save Minorities Society, Bangladesh Christian Association, etc. organised the human chain.
