Armenia’s young European ambassadors raise awareness of environmental issues in Oshakan and Sevan |

Young European AmbassadorsyesThe EV Group of Armenia held the event “Plogging & learning” in Oshakan, which aims to promote healthy lifestyles among young people in the Aragatsotn region and raise their awareness of environmental issues. The event was held in cooperation with EuroClub Oshakan.

More than 30 people came together to discuss EU environmental policy and the EU Green Deal.

The youth leaders also provided suggestions on how Armenian youth can have a positive impact on the environment, raise awareness about environmental issues, and promote green behaviors and shared values ​​in Armenian society.

“I really enjoyed this event because it helped me learn about the community’s environment and understand the importance of sustainable development.” said 17-year-old participant Hrachik Jrbashyan.

Earlier, on June 15, the Youth Association held a similar event in Sevan, where 15 young people hiked along the newly built trail between the town of Sevan and Lake Sevan. During the hike, the Youth Association presented Sevan’s biodiversity, existing environment and conservation issues, and introduced the EU environmental policy and the 2030 Biodiversity Strategy to local young people.

“This event provides a great opportunity to appreciate the environment and raise awareness of the importance of protecting nature.” said 20-year-old participant Lilit Galstyan.
