Armenia and the European Union are re-examining their relations. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed this position on Wednesday in response to questions from members of the Armenian National Assembly session.
Those relationships are being viewed positively, he said. He recalled that Armenia’s bilateral relations with the EU are governed by the Comprehensive Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2017.
Mirzoyan added: “New issues are being discussed and the process is expected to go beyond the scope of this agreement.” The Armenian Foreign Minister said both sides have the political will to deepen relations, with areas of cooperation particularly including aviation and economic diversification.
“CEPA does not limit Armenia and the EU from expanding relations and implementing new projects,” Mirzoyan stressed, noting that with the implementation of the agreement, new important elements of cooperation emerge.
