Ariel Lassiter signs with his fifth MLS team

Ariel Lassiter continues to gain experience in MLS.

In the last few hours, the fast national team player confirmed a new team move, leaving Montreal for the Chicago Fire.

The new league will run for the remainder of the 2024 season. That is, until November of this year.

“Facing the final stretch of the regular season, we wanted to bring in a versatile player with MLS experience to strengthen our playoff push,” commented Chicago Fire Sporting Director Georg Heitz.

“Ariel will bring more capabilities and flexibility to the team. Because he can play in multiple positions. “We look forward to welcoming him to the club in the coming days.”

Lassiter, 29, joins the Flames after spending the past two seasons in Montreal, where he made 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists.

Lassiter played a total of 143 games (72 starts) in the MLS. Played for LA Galaxy (2015-18), Houston Dynamo (2020-21), Inter Miami (2022-23) and Montreal (2023-24).
