Barcelona – Argentinian theater director Lola Arias presents “Days Outside” this weekend in Barcelona, a play that “emphasizes resilience and love” in a hostile environment such as a prison, and the transition to freedom of six protagonists whose stories are based on real events.

The work was presented at the Greek Cultural Festival in the Catalan capital and arrived in Spain after a tour that began in Buenos Aires in May and June and a stop at the Avignon Festival in France.

As Arias explains, “Days Outside” is the second part of the film “Reas”, which premiered this year at the Berlin Film Festival and was filmed in an abandoned prison in Buenos Aires, and tells the stories of six incarcerated people, reconstructing the scenes from “Reas”, his prison life and his dreams of freedom.

“Days Outside” is a sequel to “Reyas” and the story begins after the six protagonists are released from prison and face the challenges of readjusting to society and carrying the stigma of having a criminal record.

The events in both the film and the play are based on real events, and the characters are played by real protagonists.

All the scenes unfold on stage with music as the common thread, with songs composed for the event by Argentinian musician Ulises Conti, performed live by Inés Copertino, also Argentinian, and choreographed by her compatriot Andrea Servera.

Days Outside is the latest project by Arias, a multi-talented artist who combines fiction and reality in her shows, where she turns people from other fields into protagonists of theatrical, literary, musical or film projects. Efei
