Al-Arab oversaw the municipality’s intensified inspections of food stores, central markets and factories that specialize in selling Eid food in preparation for the holy festival of Eid.
The scope of the inspection includes ensuring the implementation of hygiene requirements in food factories and the safety of food and confectionery displayed in business associations and central markets.
An official source at the Ministry of Municipalities said in a statement to Al Arabiya that the campaigns monitor popular kitchens, shops selling Eid sweets and nuts, as well as commercial complexes and meat shops on a daily basis, noting that the campaign against slaughterhouses aims to ensure that they are ready and able to receive consumers.
Sources confirmed that the city meat sanitation department has the necessary veterinary staff to carry out control tasks and has a veterinary team in each slaughterhouse to check the safety of the carcasses before they reach the consumers.
Regarding the inspection activities, sources said that municipalities are organizing inspections in the morning and evening covering all food establishments in all districts to ensure that they meet food safety requirements during preparation, processing and safe handling.
Sources explained that the municipality has a hotline to receive complaints and submit comments or complaints regarding health requirements around the clock.
He noted that a team has been set up to monitor complaints about food on all social media platforms to ensure prompt action and response when complaints arise about any product in the local market.
The source explained that the team monitors domestic and international food news, and if it finds that there are complaints about a product in a certain country, it confirms that the product does not exist in the local market, and if so, it confirms that the product complies with the requirements and norms followed by the country.

Ensuring food safety
Meanwhile, Doha Municipality is inspecting associations, shops selling sweets and nuts, popular kitchens and markets, aiming to achieve the highest level of food safety to ensure the health of consumers during Eid.
The Leiyang Municipal Government has also drawn up a work plan for the health control department, dividing the tasks into two shifts, morning and evening. In addition, the department also receives consumer complaints and follows up on them around the clock.
It was decided that the municipal inspectors will work around the clock during the holidays to ensure the quality of food sold in various food outlets within the jurisdiction of the municipality. In addition to continuous follow-up of complaints received by the department and efforts to increase health awareness among food establishment workers and consumers through e-services and initiatives provided by the health control department.
The inspections in the city of Rennes focus on shops popular with consumers, such as popular kitchens, restaurants, bakeries, kitchens, supermarkets, factories, commercial complexes, hotels and clubs, with a focus on checking the safety of the facilities and their workers, fresh food, nuts, dates, sweets and various beverages.

Covering slaughterhouse work… Strictly regulated

They stressed that all food products currently on display are under constant supervision by inspection teams attached to the Health Control Department, explaining that visits and activities will take place uninterrupted during Eid.

In the same context, the Al Sheehaniya Municipality has stepped up its crackdown on butcher shops and shops selling sweets and nuts, with the Municipality Health Control Department conducting full veterinary supervision of all slaughtering stages at slaughterhouses, with all carcasses coordinated with Widam Food. The company provides a complete team of butchers, cleaners and security personnel to provide high-quality services during Eid. The Al Wakrah Municipality has also taken measures and plans to serve the public and maintain the health and safety of community members, strengthening regular inspections of all food trading shops in the Al Wakrah Municipality to ensure that they meet the prescribed hygiene requirements. The automated slaughterhouse will operate during Eid under the supervision of professional veterinarians, ensuring the safety of carcasses received by the public and butcher shops, and increasing working hours during Eid.

Al Khor and Taxila
The Al Khor and Dahira Municipalities, represented by the Health Control Department, have developed a comprehensive program to implement inspection and control activities on food businesses, track their compliance with health requirements, and ensure the safety of food ingredients at all stages of preparation, preparation, transportation, storage and handling until they reach the consumers.

Increase the number of butchers
The action plan includes strengthening supervision of people’s slaughterhouses, with the city government sending a professional veterinarian to check the carcasses to ensure they are safe and free of any disease. The competent companies have been notified that they need to increase the number of slaughterhouses, cleaners and security personnel, while regulating consumers’ access to slaughterhouses.
Veterinarians inspect carcasses at the Baladna Company slaughterhouse and the Umm Asmira slaughterhouse in Al Khor and Al Dhakhira cities to ensure they are disease-free and fit for human consumption.
Health controls include a doctor from the department checking fish brought directly from the sea every day at the fish market in Al Khor, as well as regular checks of fish in shops every day during the Eid period.
