Lithuanian Customs has fined a company that imported coal and rubber from Russia to Lithuania 1.27 million euros for violating international sanctions. LRT reports the matter.

The name of the company has not been disclosed. It is understood that the Commercial Entity Inspection Department of the Kaunas Regional Customs Administration has been involved in the case.

Lithuania’s Attorney General Nida Grunskienė recently said that more than 50 pre-trial investigations into violations of international sanctions against Russia and Belarus are currently underway.

On Tuesday, the Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau reported that officials suspected seven individuals and four companies of violating international sanctions and smuggling goods totaling nearly 2 million euros into Russia.

A Lithuanian car exporting company has been fined 13.6 million euros for violating international sanctions, customs said last week.
