In the last decade of the 20th century and the first two decades of the 21st century, there was an extremely influential figure—— Amfilohiye RadovichHis influence was evident not only in Montenegro, but also in neighboring countries. He inspired awe in many believers, and his sermons, no matter how absurd or untrue they were at times, were accepted without question.
Without a doubt, it can be said that his life work made a significant contribution to the cultural genocide of Montenegrins, since he ideologically accepted the Great Serbian Project, which only changed the names and strategies of the 19th century, but had the same goal – to deny Montenegrins and Montenegrin identity.
Amfilohi’s activities in Montenegro began in the 1990s, with the 1991 census showing that Montenegrins made up 61.89% of the population, while Serbs made up only 8.34%. By the next census in 2003, the number of Montenegrins had decreased to 43.16%, while the number of Serbs had increased to 31.99%. Although part of this increase was due to the influx of refugees caused by the war, a large part of this change (up to 21.65%) can be attributed to the (mis)behavior of Amfilohi Radović.

Amfilohi’s (mis)behavior is a conscious act of cultural genocide against Montenegrins
Instead of spreading love and Christianity among believers, which should be the sacred mission of the metropolis, Amfilohije Radović violated all church canons and became the most influential politician under the wings of Saint Sava in Montenegro. If it is a rare intellectual, such as Prof. Dr. Novak Kilibadabreak away from the control of Greater Serbia and reveal the terrible plan of cultural genocide, they will immediately find themselves the target of sinister persecution. Amfilohije knew very well that he was not allowed to face Kilibarda in public, despite Kilibarda challenging him to a duel several times on TV. The articles published by Kilibarda in the magazine Svetigora became unacceptable. This was a clear sign that Amfilohije was consciously committing cultural genocide against the Montenegrins.
Amphilocius, being a clever man without conscience and sense of justice, would quickly adapt to the completely opposite “truth” once he saw that one of them did not bring the expected results.
Thus, in 2002, Amfilohye cursed dissidents in one of his most famous ways, addressing some of Cranavale’s citizens who wanted their country to be independent: “May God allow as few people as possible to worship the pagan emperor, the cursed Dukljanin, and may every Montenegrin nail the pagan emperor Dukljanin to the Vizier’s bridge with a hammer.”

The Serbian Church has realized that if it continues to curse the first Montenegrin dynasty of Vojislavljevic, it will lose the battle that will prove the indisputable fact of the existence of Montenegro and the Montenegrin national identity. As an act of cultural genocide, they adopted the strategy of Serbianizing a part of Montenegrin history and cut a short path from the “fascinating Dukelian” to the high position of “Bishop of Diocli”. Many years later, Patriarch Irenaeus appointed Archbishop Ostojić as Bishop of Diocli in the shrine of Podgorica.
As an unscrupulous forgery magician, he even denied the independence of the Montenegrin Orthodox Church in order to impose the Serbian identity on the faithful. Therefore, on June 10, 1992, he petitioned the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church to remove the independence of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro from the 1850 Russian Orthodox Diptych, as it was also included in the 1856 Canonical Constitution.
How much courage it takes to tell such a notorious lie, on the other hand, also shows who and what his followers are. That is, in the Tomos issued by Ecumenical Patriarch Meletheus IV on February 19, 1922, Alexander Karadjordjevich The payment of 1.5 million francs clearly stated that the new Serbian Church also included the independent Montenegrin Church. As one of the most educated theologians in Montenegro, Amfilohije could not have been unaware of Article 40 of the 1905 Constitution of the Principality of Montenegro, which states:
“The state religion of Montenegro is the Orthodox Church. The Church of Montenegro is independent. It is not attached to any of the churches, but is in doctrinal unity with the Orthodox Universal Church. All other recognized religions are free in Montenegro.”
As a theologian, he must also read this article. Article 1 of the Constitution of the Holy Synod of 1904, and the dialogue between Valtazar Bogišić and Serbian historian, monk and archbishop Nićifor Dučić, who noted that the Montenegrin Church has a “completely independent and unique hierarchy”.
Years later, we have Amphilocius’s public confession when he sees that the historical facts are unbreakable: “It has been completely independent since 1766, when the Patriarchate of Peć was abolished, and then it was called, at that time it was called autocephaly because it was the only diocese in the Patriarchate of Peć. This phenomenon continues to this day, and it is called temporal autonomy because it created the state”.
However, this recognition does not address the long-standing poisoning suffered by the victims of the cultural genocide that was intended to give the church an aura of Serbian identity.
Contrary to church canon law, he often spoke at political rallies and inspired fear: “Whoever is disloyal to monolingual, mono-blooded Russia, may his flesh fall from him. I have cursed him three times and three thousand times.”
Amphilokius’ curse and insistence on doing things became such a powerful weapon that many people easily became victims of cultural genocide due to fear of God’s punishment. He molded them like clay, indoctrinating them with Serbian identity and chauvinistic Chetnik ideology. Instead of love for Montenegrins, there was a huge hatred – he called them “bastards”, a marker of Montenegrin identity, but also other nationalities and religions. In other words, they created so-called “soldiers of Christ” who hated everything that was not Serbian.
