Anbu Mukantabana and Keisha Effiom discuss USAID activities in Rwanda
The two leaders discussed USAID priorities and areas where the two sides will continue to collaborate. The conversation took place on Friday, July 19, 2024.
The talks came a day after Keisha Effiom was sworn in as head of USAID in Rwanda and Burundi.
Rwanda and USAID often collaborate in various activities aimed at promoting the development and well-being of Rwandans, and last year, the Bank of Kigali signed a cooperation agreement with the Hinga Wunguke project of USAID (USAID), which provides capital and knowledge to farmers and those who add value to their products.

The agency also provides health support to the people of Rwanda, and through 2023, USAID has extended funding for the country’s Health Improvement Project, which began in 2020 and is due to end in June 2023.
This is a grant equivalent to US$ 25 million, which will be added to the Rwanda Integrated Health Systems Activities (RIHSA) program, which aims to improve the quality of health services provided.
