His Holiness explained that today, customs vary from country to country in preparing many different dishes and popular foods on the occasion of the return of pilgrims, some of them prepare a feast for family, friends and neighbors by slaughtering sheep, for example, some also offer various sweets and nuts, especially for children, indicating extravagance or the custom of some people to slaughter animals in front of the pilgrims’ houses, or to jump on it before entering the house, or to smear the walls of the pilgrims’ houses with the blood of the sacrifices, and other similar beliefs, which are abominable and prohibited acts that must be condemned in order for the Hajj to be accepted and justified.
