The Kiev Military Office’s Telegram channel issued a written statement saying that alarms were sounded across the country due to the threat of attack from Russian Tu-95 fighter jets and cruise missiles.
Different Telegram channels in Ukraine warned people living in the Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipro and Vinnytsia regions to go to shelters.
Oleg Sinegubov, head of the Kharkiv region’s military communications office, said in a statement on his social media account that Russian troops had launched an attack on the Kharkiv region.
Ukrainian media reported that explosions were heard in parts of the country.
