The AK Party will go into camp to discuss the election results from May 31 to June 2. At the rally, which will be attended by MPs and mayors, the election results will be evaluated and the process of change will be discussed.
The dates for the AK Party consultation and evaluation sessions have been announced. The first camp to discuss the change process will be held in Kizilkahaman from May 31 to June 2, with the participation of members of parliament. President Erdogan will evaluate the process together with members of parliament before making radical changes in the party.
According to Aksham newspaper, Erdogan wants the AKP to play a more active role in parliament and has asked his deputies to work “with discipline”; he is expected to instruct them not to neglect this area, especially their own constituencies, and to win back the hearts of voters who voted for another party in local elections.
Ministers will deliver speeches
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Interior Affairs, Defense and Finance are also scheduled to speak at the camp. During the camp, members of Parliament will explain the needs and problems of their regions to the cabinet members. The Presidium of Local Government, Election Affairs and Organization will also be evaluated at the camp.
Commitments are on the table
The parliamentary work schedule will be one of the important agenda items of the camp. Another consultation and evaluation meeting of the AK Party will be held with the mayors on July 1-2. In the camp, the promises made in the election manifesto will be discussed, calling for cooperation between the central and local governments. Mayors elected for the first time will receive a separate title. A new roadmap will be drawn up within the framework of analyzing the election results.
