– Chairman Ali shares position with Carter Center team
President Dr. Irfaan Ali on Friday met with representatives of the Carter Center who are in Guyana conducting pre-election assessments ahead of the 2025 regional and general elections.
During the meeting at the Presidential Palace, President Ali reiterated his government’s commitment to the democratic process, the rule of law and the will of the people.
He stressed his Government’s commitment to transparency and accountability and thanked the Centre for its continued cooperation in facilitating free and fair elections.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister, retired Brigadier General Mark Phillips, Gail Teixeira, Minister of Governance and Parliamentary Affairs, Anil Nandlall, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, and Marcia Nadir-Sharma, Director of Presidential Affairs.
