New Delhi: A workshop on startup entrepreneurship was organized at Atal Incubation Centre (AIC) – BARC, DAE Convention Centre, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai, 400094 on Friday, March 10, 2023. AIC-BARC was established under the ambit of Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog to create an ecosystem for startups based on spin-out technologies of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). AIC-BARC started operations on December 22, 2022, with the signing of an agreement for incubation of spin-out technologies of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
Four major industries.
The invitation to the seminar received an overwhelming response and about 150 people attended the seminar. In the seminar, two technologies, SHESHA (for wet waste management) and Rapid Biocomposting (for dry waste management) were introduced by BARC’s field science experts and their business models were presented. Working model demonstrations of SHESHA and Rapid Biocomposting plants were arranged for the participants in Anushakti nagar and nearby areas. These technologies are intended to
Clean India campaign of the Indian government. In addition, waste is being converted into wealth through products generated from garbage which return to nature, ensuring continuation of biogeochemical cycles and replenishing the soil
Contains important nutrients.
The workshop ended with a very lively and interactive feedback session, wherein aspiring entrepreneurs interacted with a panel of experts from BARC, and the success of the workshop bodes well for the launch of some successful start-ups in the coming years.
