The Mauritius Crown is delighted to invite you to the grand finale of the Miss Universe Mauritius 2024 National Pageant. This spectacular event will take place on Saturday 10th August at the Château de Labourdonnais, a historic and majestic venue that promises to be an unforgettable evening. The grand finale will kick off at 6pm and end at 9.30pm, with live performances and a glory drone show, guaranteeing a spectacular viewing experience.
Former beauty queen Vandana Jeetah took over the management of Miss Universe Mauritius and two months ago she launched a new edition of the competition characterized by unprecedented openness and inclusion. In fact, among the 15 candidates participating in the competition we find mothers, young women and transgender people, with no age criteria.
The development is in line with the international Miss Universe Organization, which changed its rules to include mothers and married women who were previously excluded from the competition in 2023. Tickets for the event are on sale at Ticketclub.mu.
Here are the 15 semifinalists ready to shine on stage:
Larisha Soomaroo, 26, from Medine-Camp-de-Masque, is an International Hotel Management graduate and entrepreneur in the events industry. Finalist for Homeless and Vulnerable Children. She is also the Secretary of the Mauritius Muay Thai Federation.
25-year-old Lauraniere Petit from Terre-Rouge is passionate about Muay Thai and art, passions she uses to express herself and feel confident.
Jeanny Michelle Karla Fanfan, 38, from Redland, is the first transgender person in Mauritius to work in the financial sector and is an aspiring flight attendant. She is an activist for LGBTQIA+ rights and is passionate about fashion and travel
Shiksha Devi Matabadul, 32, from Flacq, is an emergency care specialist, actress and model. She was Miss Mauritius International 2014 and teaches basic life support and rescue skills to everyone.
Marie Caroline Lovena Rachel Tatyana Paul, 20, from Souillac, Mauritius, excelled in reading and playing football. She was determined to fulfill her childhood dream.
Yeshna Poonita Fagooah, 26, from Quatre Bornes, works at the National Bank of Mauritius. She is passionate about photography, poetry and aspires to become a journalist.
Sephora Vieillesse, 22, from Port Louis, is a Zumba instructor and leader of a team of fitness trainers. She is enthusiastic.
Monishka Trishty Madhewoo, 21, from Horatii, is studying Law and Criminal Justice. She is a social media manager on TikTok, a humorous content creator, and is passionate about teaching values and discipline.
Savannah Desvaux de Marigny, 22, from Curepipe, is a content creator, freelance model and founder of the brand Borderline. She was inspired by her mother.
Tania Rene, 26 years old, from Quatre-Bornes, has been working as a project manager and model for ten years. She is passionate about Japanese culture and anime.
Yoshita Hindraz, 23, from Vallée-des-Prêtres, is passionate about animals, dance and photography.
Emily Bauluck, 33, from Mahébourg, is a mother and coach who champions women’s empowerment and resilience.
Smiti Ramchurn, 24, of Phoenix, is a behavioral economics master’s student with a passion for French pastry.
Léa Ferhat-Huckel, 18, from Tamarin, is a freelance model and events coordinator who competes in the Miss Universe pageant.
Marie Laura Acanthe, 21, from Rose-Hill, is a sales assistant who dreams of becoming a flight attendant. She enjoys hiking, camping and volunteering.
