German police detained a convicted murderer wanted on an international arrest warrant during a border control in Frankfurt (Oude). The Turkish man presented a Polish passport, dpa news agency reported on Friday.
According to Germany’s federal police, officers checked the 45-year-old man at the border crossing on the city bridge on Thursday afternoon.
The man produced his Polish passport. The check showed he was born in turkey The German media reported that the man was living in Poland.
The murderer on the German border
According to the order, the wanted man was legally convicted by the Turkish judicial system of attempted murder in April 2007 and subsequently of murder in October 2009. He now faces extradition to Turkey.
