At noon on Tuesday (August 6), leaders and activists of the district Awami League and its allied organizations took out a stick procession in the district town. The procession started from the district Awami League office and went around many roads in the city and finally reached Chowrangi. Leaders and activists at all levels spoke at this time.
They said Sheikh Hasina had created anarchy in the country by sending students in the name of BNP-Jamaat movement to overthrow the government. Following this, Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign.
The spokesman said it was impossible to eliminate the Awami League from Sheikh Mujib’s Bengal.
Earlier in the morning, the Upazila Awami League leaders took out a protest march from Tungipara bus stand in Tungipara in the district.
Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists organised joyous processions and distributed sweets in two upazilas of the district, Kashiani and Muksudpur, to celebrate Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, calling her a dictator.
