On Lenin Square in the Yamal capital, conditions are being created for the city’s first beach volleyball tournament.
The competition will be held on Youth Day, June 29. A representative of the Salekhard administration provided information about the preparations for the venue.
According to the local government’s official Telegram channel, 100 cubic meters of sand have been delivered to the main square, and in the near future, a dedicated volleyball court will be built here.
Some people, however, didn’t like the news. Residents wondered why a separate venue was needed if the city had a beach, and wondered who would clean up the sand after the event.
