A 39-year-old man committed suicide while in the custody of IPJ Argeş. The case is being investigated by the prosecutor

A 39-year-old man committed suicide while in the custody of the Inspectorate of Police (IPJ) in Algers County on Wednesday, and prosecutors are investigating the case.

It is stated that “on July 17, the police officers of the Argeş Detention and Preventive Detention Center informed ex officio that a 39-year-old man, who was under investigation in preventive detention and in a state of deprivation of liberty, was found hanged to death”, in a press release of IPJ Argeş.

According to the same source, police immediately began resuscitation efforts and requested the involvement of emergency medical teams, but the man was later confirmed dead.

Police are conducting an investigation to determine all the circumstances surrounding the incident and have informed the Public Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Pitesti Court.
