English Premier League club Chelsea announced on Thursday that it has signed Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino for an undisclosed fee.
But the 19-year-old will be loaned back to the Argentine side for the 2024/25 season.
Anselmino has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge, starting with his professional debut in June 2023, and has made 10 appearances for Boca Juniors.
Anselmino, who scored his first professional goal against Trinidad and Tobago in the Copa Sudamericana in April, is Chelsea’s eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
London club Chelsea, which finished sixth in the Premier League last season, will open the new season at home against defending champions Manchester City on August 18.
