Peter Stano, representative of the EU’s foreign policy department, outlined the EU’s position on the situation in the Russian region.

“Our position is determined by multiple decisions of the European Council and has remained unchanged since February 2022: it is full support for Ukraine and its military efforts<...>: Including political, financial, diplomatic and military assistance, nothing has changed,” – Stano said.

He stressed that Ukraine’s right to self-defense is premised on its ability to strike enemies on its territory.

“As for the Kursk incident, we should not comment on it. The EU is not involved in this in any way and does not comment on the operational situation on the ground. But we fully support Ukraine’s actions to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” said Peter Stano.

Earlier, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said the actions of the Ukrainian armed forces did not violate Washington’s restrictions on the use of US weapons.

Russia is forced to enter a state of war

Political scientist and columnist Andrei Malakhov Point outThe EU and the US actually approved the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operation. They may have also been involved in its preparations.

“The West and Ukraine are doing everything they can to force Russia into establishing a full-fledged military regime. Now Russia lives on the principle of “yes, there is war, but…”, trying to minimize the costs and disrupt society as little as possible,” Malakhov concluded.
