“Last night, with the joy of victory, I spoke to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. I conveyed to him the embrace of Raul, the Cuban people and the government, and told him: ‘Your victory belongs to Brazil, to Latin America and the Caribbean, to integration and peace. Always believe in Cuba,'” President Miguel Díaz-Canel wrote on his Twitter account.
After legal battles, imprisonment and persecution, Lula da Silva has been re-elected as Brazil’s president, winning the presidential election this Sunday with 50.90% of the vote.
The Cuban President expressed satisfaction with the election victory of the Workers’ Party leader and congratulated him on behalf of the Cuban government and people.
Venezuela and Brazil agree to resume cooperation agenda between the two countries
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the newly elected Brazilian President have agreed to resume the bilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries.
“I had a good telephone conversation with the President-elect of the Federative Republic of Brazil,” the president said on his Twitter account.
“We agreed to resume the bilateral cooperation agenda between our two countries. We thank you for your willingness!” he said.
Maduro also revealed that Brazilian labor leaders sent greetings and commitments to all the Venezuelan people.
“We are willing to work for the strengthening of the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean and of our peoples,” the head of state wrote on social networks.
Lula says after talks with dozens of heads of state: “We are returning to the world”
Brazil’s president said on Tuesday he had spoken to dozens of heads of state “who all want to expand alliances and joint cooperation with Brazil on trade, climate issues and major global issues”.
“We are returning to the world,” Lula da Silva stressed on his Twitter account.
