Osijek: Another fire breaks out at Delaware International Airport

At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, a fire broke out at the premises of the plastic processing and storage company “Delaware International” in the Osijek settlement of Briest. According to unofficial sources, the fire engulfed the warehouse of waste plastic packaging in the open air area, and huge black smoke rose from it.

All available fire brigades from the city of Osijek rushed to the scene, and the head of the Civil Protection Headquarters of Osijek-Baranja County, Mato Lukić, also sent additional fire brigades from all over the county.

JVP Osijek commander Goran Ivković reported that there were 60 firefighters, 20 vehicles, and members of the DVD and CZ had also arrived at the scene of the fire at Drava International, and he expressed the hope that the fire would be completely extinguished soon.

He also said that at 3:12 pm, citizens passing by the road near the plastic processing and storage company received reports that large bags of plastic were burning.

On October 4 last year, a large-scale fire broke out at the same location with serious consequences. It is a company that stores and processes a large amount of plastic waste packaging.
